...Our amazing life...

My photo
We met in June of 2007, dated for 7 months & got engaged - January 1, 2008. We were married on July 26, 2008 and welcomed our daughter, Kaitlynn Leane into the world on August 20, 2009. We said hello & goodbye to our precious son, baby Joshua on December 5, 2011. We are blessed knowing that we'll be with him again one day in Heaven. We also have two sweet beagles, Willa (4) and Sadie (1). God has truly blessed our family in numerous ways! We both have extremely wonderful and loving parents, plus amazing friends! We couldn't be any happier!

Happy Memorial Day!!

Kaitlynn and I had a great week at home leading up to a long weekend with 'dada.' We had a picnic lunch with Kelly on Wednesday, lunch with my dad on Thursday, and a pool playdatewith Andrea and her son Jack.

Kaitlynn loves being outside! We always try and head outside to play once Kelly is on his way home. Kaitlynn loves seeing her daddy pull into the driveway :o) Her face always lights up!!

Like every weekend, Memorial Wknd. flew by! Thankfully Kelly had Monday off from work, but it didn't feel like a 3-day weekend. While he headed to Ellijay with Kaitlynn for lunch on Saturday with his mom & sister, I went with my dad to Charlotte to meet my newest niece!Jeslyn is absolutely perfect and I just adore her!!

A few updates on Kaitlynn.......

*The past month, Kaitlynn has slept from 7:30pm - 6:00am like clockwork! Even though it's an early rise for Kelly and myself, it's been amazing getting 8-hours of solid sleep.

*Kaitlynn is still taking 2 naps each day - usually around 9:30am & 2:30pm for 1.5 hours each.

*Kaitlynn is taking 6.5 oz of formula every 4.5 - 5 hours and 8 oz. of formula before bedtime!

*Kaitlynn is still eating mostly Gerber stage 2 pureed foods. We've been introducing her to finger foods slowly, but not too much interest yet. She does like cheerios, yogurt melts, and strawberries.

*We've started adding in two servings of rice cereal (mixed in with breakfast fruit & her lunch veggies).

*She LOVES yogurt - we've been giving her strawberry & peach yogurt once a day.

*Still no signs of crawling. She wants to crawl out of our arms, so the interest is there, just not on the floor yet :o) However, she loves to be on her feet! She hasn't pulled herself up to a standing position yet, but she likes to stand and hold onto things with us behind her as a guide.

*We take a morning walk for 30 minutes everyday around 8am before breakfast!

Kaitlynn loves the swimming pool. We're starting our swim lessons at Aqua-Tots this Wednesday morning!

*Kaitlynn is still talking like crazy. She will mimic what you say to her.

*Her laugh is absolutely contagious and makes us melt every time she starts!

**It's hard to believe that in less than 3 months, our baby girl with be a 1 year old!

Happy Birthday, Kelly!

Kaitlynn and I spent a lot of time planning different things to do for Kelly over his birthday weekend. Saturday, Kelly had bible study with the guys in our sunday school at 8:30am, and his first golf lesson 1:00pm. Kaitlynn and I headed to the Marietta Square for the Farmers Market while Kelly was at bible study. We finished off the evening at one of his favorite restaurants - Outback!

We rolled them in rice cereal to help her pick them up! They were a bit slippery :o)

Sunday was just as relaxing.... we spent our morning at church, before a restful afternoon during Kaitlynn's 3-hour nap! We took her to the swimming pool for the first time, and had one of Kelly's favorites for dinner - Chinese!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY!!

I absolutely LOVE to plan things. While Kelly worked, Kaitlynn and I put together lots of things for "dada's" birthday. After Kaitlynn's morning nap, we headed down to Smyrna to have lunch with Kelly. Before I picked him up, Kaitlynn & I met one of his co-workers in the parking garage to secretly drop off a carrot cake I made for everyone to enjoy in honor of Kelly's birthday. After lunch, Kaitlynn and I headed inside the office to wish Kelly a happy birthday with his co-workers.
Once Kelly made it home, we headed to the pool for an evening swim. After the success at the pool yesterday, we thought it would be a nice way to relax several evenings a week. After our pool adventure, while Kelly was handling Kaitlynn's bedtime, I worked on his birthday dinner - Chicken Parmesan. It's one of his favorite meals that I cook. I had also made a small carrot cake for us to enjoy after dinner!

Life Has Finally Slowed Down.....

As Kelly & I mentioned in one of our previous posts, we've thoroughly enjoyed moving into our new home and getting our life put back together. Although a hectic process, we've enjoyed furniture shopping & finding unique accents for our home. Thank goodness things have finally slowed down!

Kaitlynn and I ventured out to Little Bears Indoor Playground for some playtime on Tuesday before having lots of family in town! My dad invited my grandmother down to Atlanta to spend time with him Wednesday-Sunday. While my dad worked, she spent the day with us on Thursday before Kelly's parents arrived Thursday evening for the weekend! After our weekend visit with Kelly's parents, my mom came into town Monday-Wednesday! We really enjoyed our time with family over this past week!

Our visit with family wasn't the only event that took place in our life. My older brother, David & his wife Bonnie had their baby girl over the weekend! Jeslyn Kate was born on Friday, May 14th. We cannot wait to meet her!

Wednesday, May 19th was Kaitlynn's 9-month well visit. Things checked out great - she's right on target with her developmental skills such as sitting unsupported, "babbling" to have a conversation with Kelly or myself, picking up finger foods, and standing with support! She is taking only 4 bottles per day (6.5 oz during the day, 8 oz. at bedtime!). Since we've moved into our new home, Kaitlynn has slept all night 7:30pm - 6:00/6:30am every night! We've started to slowly introduce her to finger foods, and are still trying to get her familiar with a sippy cup.

9-month stats:
Weight: 16 lbs. 8 oz. (10%)
Length: 27 in. (25%)

Willa loves her fenced-in backyard!!

Went to the trunk to get her stroller out for our morning walk,
came back and she was sitting straight up in her car seat without the straps!
