...Our amazing life...

My photo
We met in June of 2007, dated for 7 months & got engaged - January 1, 2008. We were married on July 26, 2008 and welcomed our daughter, Kaitlynn Leane into the world on August 20, 2009. We said hello & goodbye to our precious son, baby Joshua on December 5, 2011. We are blessed knowing that we'll be with him again one day in Heaven. We also have two sweet beagles, Willa (4) and Sadie (1). God has truly blessed our family in numerous ways! We both have extremely wonderful and loving parents, plus amazing friends! We couldn't be any happier!

Lots of Girl Time!

Our week ended well with our MOMS playgroup with two new moms & two new babies, and getting Kaitlynn's weight checked on Friday, January 22nd. Her 5-month stats??

Weight: 13 lbs. 4 oz.
Length: 24.25 inches

LEFT: 4 days old - 5 lbs. 9oz.
RIGHT: 5 months old - 13 lbs. 4 oz.

We spent lots of time Friday night - Sunday morning doing things as a family since Kelly was heading out of town for 5 days with his dad & brother. All I can say is that I'm quite the lucky lady to have such a wonderful family! I have been blessed with a wonderful, godly husband, a beautiful daughter, and the cutest dog alive!

Once Kelly headed out Sunday morning with his dad & brother for Biloxi, MS, our "girl time" started. On Sunday, we spent time with Angi & Erika over lunch, then spent some time with my dad mid-afternoon. My mom came into town on Monday to spend some time with all of us. With Kelly out of town, it was nice having the company especially in the evening hours once Kaitlynn was asleep. We kept ourselves quite busy between running errands, looking at homes with Angi, spending time with Amy & Caroline, and taking Nana to our music class at KangaZoom. My mom was able to stay until mid-afternoon on Wednesday with us, which made for a much easier week with Kelly out of town! Thanks Mom!

Thursday was the day of anticipation! We spent the morning with our playgroup, which helped pass the time until Kelly made it home! All of us girls were so excited to have him home on Thursday from his trip. Thursday evening was definitely a wonderful evening, and Kaitlynn LOVED seeing her daddy!! It melts our hearts when we walk into a room and she starts smiling at us!! It's one of the best feelings in the world.

New toy from daddy!!

Even though Kelly got home Thursday afternoon, he made his way back to work on Friday morning. Kaitlynn and I headed out and spent some time running a few errands. Thankfully the weekend rolled around quite quickly!! With the cold weather coming in for the weekend, we had plans to spend lots of time relaxing and lounging around the house!! However, I got the brilliant idea to reserve a storage unit and move out everything in our garage on Saturday morning! We had lots of help from Chris, and Angi spent some time looking around for decor type things for our home during the selling period! A very low-key weekend turned into an extremely productive one! Thankfully we got everything accomplished on Saturday and were able to spend Sunday relaxing. Whew!

On the Verge of Teething??

Our beautiful 5-month old daughter!

Thankfully as this week has progressed, so has the warmer weather! We finally hit the 40's on Wednesday 1-13-10, and then 50's on Friday 1-15-10.
It's about time.....

The past few days, Kaitlynn's feeding, naps, & bedtime sleep have been extremely off. Kelly and I thought she was teething for a while, but there were no signs of teeth, and at her last doctor visit last week, the nurse confirmed that there were no teeth coming in. We decided to take the past few days as abnormal days, and that she would kick things into gear and get back on track soon.

Thursday rolled around and Kaitlynn still wasn't napping well. She slept about 45 minutes for her morning nap (usually 2-2.5 hour nap). Even with the lack of sleep, we headed to our MOMS playgroup at Anna's house. Kaitlynn did great for the majority of them time - didn't get too fussy until 11:00am. We pushed through the fussiness and stayed until 11:45am. Her lunch & afternoon naps were normal lengths (45min.-1hr. each), but her feedings yet to improve.
I ended up heading out to dinner with Ginny on Thursday night. It was great spending some time with her and catching up on her engagement & all the new things happening in her life. Since Kaitlynn's birth, it's been hit or miss scheduling time at night or on the weekends with some of my girl friends, but I was so happy we were able to get together!
Over night on Thursday, Kaitlynn woke up every 3 hours just about - she hasn't done this in months! Kelly put her down at 7:00pm, she was up at 10:30pm, 1:30am, and 5:30am. WHAT??? We couldn't help but wonder what she was going through.
Once I got Kaitlynn up on Friday morning, I couldn't resist wondering if a tooth had come through. Believe it or not, her bottom, left, middle tooth was poking through her gum!! Our baby girl's 1st tooth coming through on January 15, 2010! Such an exciting day!

Girls night out with Ginny! Congratulations on your Engagement!!
Kelly, Kaitlynn, & I are so excited for you & Zach! Marriage is a blessing!

Kaitlynn and I were quite the lucky girls this weekend because we had Kelly home & all to ourselves for three entire days!! We love bank holidays, but we mostly love having him at home!! We had a lot of wonderful family time including date night at home on Friday, lunch at Zucca's on Saturday followed by Kaitlynn's first trip to Home Depot (Kelly was so proud), church on Sunday (Kaitlynn's 3rd nursery visit), and time at the Chattahoochee River on Monday! What a great weekend!
On the flip side.... with it being a 3-day weekend for Kelly, we started sleeping training Kaitlynn. We have not been looking forward to this day at all, but over the past few weeks we've felt that it was time based on a few things we've noticed. Our goal for our her is that she can fall asleep on her own in the crib. We have a bedtime & naptime routine, but we put her in the crib while she's awake, but showing signs of being sleepy. On top of sleep training, we also introduced her to solid foods for the 1st time!! We started with sweet potatoes - just a few bites, and will continue giving her sweet potatoes for several days before trying something new. She did great and really seemed to enjoy having something new added to her afternoon bottle! On top of everything, Kaitlynn finally moved into #2 Pampers Diapers!! This has truly been a weekend of changes, and introductions to new things.

One happy girl after a much needed 2.5 hour lunch-time nap!
Playtime with daddy!! Thank you David & Bonnie for the great gift.

Kaitlynn's first time to the Chattahoochee River!

On top of a busy weekend, this week also proved to be yet another busy one as well. Tuesday was a "day of rest" for all the Crawford girls, with the exception for several walks to enjoy the beautiful weather, and a few errands to break-up our day!! Tuesday evening, I headed out to dinner with Megan while Kelly spent some quality time with Kaitlynn! Megan and I haven't been able to get together since Thanksgiving - whew! - we headed to The Border for some much needed queso dip!! However, the best part about Tuesday - Kelly and I found Kaitlynn's 2nd bottom tooth!!
We headed to our official first day of music class at KangaZoom on Wednesday morning, then spent some time with Amy & her 1-month old daughter, Caroline in the afternoon. Wednesday was also a special day, because it marked Kaitlynn turning 5-months old! She is growing up so fast! It's hard to believe she's putting herself to sleep for naps & bedtime, eating solid baby foods, wearing size 2 diapers, and has both bottom teeth. So many changes in just a few days. We are so blessed with a beautiful & precious daughter.

Coming up.......
MOMS playgroup on Thursday morning, getting Kaitlynn's weight checked on Friday, spending some quality time with Kelly this weekend, and having some girl time with my mom, my daughter, and Willa Grace next week!
