...Our amazing life...

My photo
We met in June of 2007, dated for 7 months & got engaged - January 1, 2008. We were married on July 26, 2008 and welcomed our daughter, Kaitlynn Leane into the world on August 20, 2009. We said hello & goodbye to our precious son, baby Joshua on December 5, 2011. We are blessed knowing that we'll be with him again one day in Heaven. We also have two sweet beagles, Willa (4) and Sadie (1). God has truly blessed our family in numerous ways! We both have extremely wonderful and loving parents, plus amazing friends! We couldn't be any happier!

Wife, Mother, Nurse?!

This week started off with more cold weather and lots of wind. I'm really starting to wonder if we're still living in the south. I cannot wait for spring & summer!

This week started off pretty crazy. Kelly had his surgery on Tuesday at St. Joseph's. It was scheduled for 1:00pm, but didn't happen until closer to 3:00pm! The doctor working on Kelly was great and only worked on his achilles tendon for an hour. I was very fortunate to have my father-in-law with me at the hospital to help pass the time. Donna stayed at our home to keep Kaitlynn, which was a huge help! Kelly has to be on crutches for 6-8 weeks, and has 3-4 months of PT. I will be driving him to and from work, PT, and anywhere else he needs to go over the next several months. Keep him in your prayers for healing, strength, and patience as he is limited on what he can & cannot do.

While Kelly was laid up on the couch, Willa made sure to keep him company!
*Sorry for the fuzzy pictures - they were taken with the camera phone!*

Because of Kelly's surgery, our weekly activities changed up a bit...... we didn't go to music class Wednesday morning since someone had to be with Kelly for the entire first 24 hours after surgery. We had plans to have playgroup this week, but all the babies had things going on - they just keep our schedules so busy, so we had to cancel for the week! Kaitlynn and I stayed at home and kept Kelly company. Thankfully the weather warmed up as the week went on and we were able to get out and take several walks. We also finally managed to get out of the house for an hour or so to go and spend some time with Amy & Caroline.

With all the cold wind these days, we've had to add an extra hat to keep Kaitlynn warm!

My previous 3rd grade class (2008-2009) gave us her high chair!
Kaitlynn finally loves to snuggle again! Every time I pick her up she lays her head
on my shoulder instantly. I love this age! Her personality is truly shinning.

Regardless of Kelly's situation, we had a pretty eventful weekend! We celebrated Kaitlynn's half-birthday (6 months) by going to the park, giving her some of her favorite foods - sweet potatoes & applesauce, and spending some time with her aunt Kristin & uncle Shea! They were able to stop by for the afternoon on Saturday. It's always great spending time with family! Saturday also proved to be an exciting day because we got our first offer on our condo! We'll see what takes place over this next week!! Definitely be in prayer for our family as things begin to unfold this week! We had all intentions of going to church Sunday morning, but after our eventful day yesterday, we decided to stay at home and rest - especially with Kelly having to start back to work this coming week!

Finally got Kelly out of the house on Friday for a few minutes!
Happy 6-months to our daughter!

Ready for Summer!

Is anyone else ready for summer?! After many days of cold weather, rain, and high winds - I am just about over winter for the year. Even though the weather was not the greatest most of this week, we still tried to make the best of our time at home!

This week started out pretty interesting - Kelly tore his achilles tendon while playing basketball this past Monday. His surgery is scheduled for this coming Tuesday at St. Josephs Hospital. Thankfully his parents are able to come down and keep Kaitlynn while I go with Kelly to the hospital for his surgery! Keep him in your prayers on this Tuesday - surgery is at 1:00pm.

Regardless of the weather, we stayed busy this week while Kelly was working. I had bible study on Monday night - we're reading The Mission of Motherhood; we took meals to two families from our Sunday school class that had recently had babies, went to our 4th week of music class, had playgroup with Julie & Shandy here at the house, and headed to Hayesville Friday & Saturday to spend time with family!

Finally able to wear shoes and keep them on most of the time!
Kaitlynn LOVES her feet!
Kaitlynn got lots of cuddle time from her Nana & Papa in Hayesville!
While we missed out on the 4 inches of snow in Atlanta,
we were blessed to have 3-4 inches of snow in Hayesville!
Willa's second snow in Atlanta! There was still
a lot of snow on the ground once we got home from N.C.

Sunday 2-14-2010
We spent Kaitlynn's first Valentine's Day relaxing at home after our trip into N.C.!! Kelly fixed an amazing dinner for me Sunday night once Kaitlynn went to bed. As much as I love Valentines Day, I am so lucky to have a husband that lets me know everyday how much he loves me and how much I mean to him.... not just on Valentines Day :)

We gave Kaitlynn her Valentine gift - a card & a red monkey
like Curious George - her favorite :)
Our best Valentine yet - our daughter, Kaitlynn Leane
Kelly fixed an amazing dinner filled with some of my favorite foods for our
Valentines dinner at home Sunday night. We had fillet, twice-baked potato,
grilled asparagus, yummy bread, and a caesar salad!
Kelly also got me the most gorgeous arrangement of flowers. My
favorite thing about them - they were a combination of roses and
calla lilies - the same flowers we used in our wedding :)

A few things Kaitlynn is up to these days:
Baby Food:
1/2 jar of fruit for breakfast, 1/2 jar of veggies for lunch, & 1/2 jar of fruit & veggies for dinner (two entire stage one jars each day)

Formula:
-with the increase in baby food, Kaitlynn has slowed down a little bit on formula, which is very normal from what our PED told us! Whew.....
As of today, Sunday, she's taking 4-5oz. every 4 hours.

Naps:
-We've finally transitioned into two naps a day!
Kaitlynn's naps are now around 9:00am and 2:00pm.

Extra:
-starting to support herself while sitting for a few seconds before falling forward.
-finally enjoys independent time in ExerSaucer for 20 minutes or so!
-finally slowing down on diaper changes! Not exciting to anyone else but me and Kelly. We only have 8-10 diaper changes now instead of 20. It's awesome!

**6-month well visit is Monday, February 22nd! Cannot wait to see how much our baby girl has grown**

Already February?!

Goodness.... where did January go?? It's hard to believe that it's already the second month of 2010. This year is going so fast!

This was a pretty hectic week in our home! Between running errands, cooking dinners, lots of walks, music classes & playgroups, an unexpected showing, a traveling husband, teething & another cold. Ugh... teething again!?!? Kelly and I think that Kaitlynn has been working on her top teeth. Hopefully we'll have some top teeth soon and all the teething madness will be over! An unexpected showing?? We had a realtor & his client come to our home Wednesday late morning, thankfully after my normal clean-up during Kaitlynn's first nap!

Willa watched this bird for 10 minutes!
Trying applesauce for the first time!
Kaitlynn LOVED it!
Playtime with Kaitlynn & Willa - thanks Grandpa Watson & Zully for the play-mat!
Kaitlynn is finally starting to enjoy the ExerSaucer more.... slowly!
She's wearing adorable ballerina overalls from her
Great-Grandmother Nanny Crawford!
Willa LOVES to watch Kaitlynn play!! Or... maybe she's looking outside :)

With such a busy week, you'd think our weekend would be quiet & relaxing. However, we stayed rather busy with some time on the side to relax! We got our home ready on Friday night & Saturday morning for a second showing from the SAME realtor & client from this past Wednesday morning! At least we know we're going in the right direction with everything we've recently done to our home to prepare it to sell. Kelly & I both headed out Sunday afternoon with Angi to look at some other homes we have yet to see. This was Kelly's first home search, and my third! I absolutely LOVE looking at homes and cannot wait to be in our "forever" home!
Here are a few pictures after staging our home!

Our cozy den :) We have our couch centered with our fireplace now!
Spacious dining area & our great breakfast bar!
Our gorgeous kitchen, and we moved the treadmill beside our
big window in the den!
Out for Melissa's "Goodbye Party" with CenterState Bank.
Thanks Kristin for the great sweater :) Perfect timing & size for
the month of love - A.K.A - February!!
During the showing, we had to go somewhere with both Kaitlynn
and Willa.... so we headed to PetSmart! Kaitlynn loves looking at
all the fish, and Willa loves smelling all the treats!

A few things that Kaitlynn is up to.....

-still playing with her feet constantly
-enjoying her ExerSaucer & Bumbo Seat more these days
-slowly learning to try and sit with support
-still loves playing in front of the mirror
-sings to her birds in the cradle swing
-talks constantly (like her mom!)
-still taking 3 naps like clockwork: 8:30am, 12:30pm, 4:00pm (with some variation)
-still taking 6oz. of formula every 3.5 - 4 hours
-still only eating a small portion of baby food once a day!
(loves sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, & applesauce)
-loves cuddle time with mommy & daddy in the mornings!
-loves her jumper!
-we still think she's teething... even one of our nursery workers mentioned teething to us today when we picked Kaitlynn up after service.
